Microsoft has made another significant acquisition with the aim of expanding their services to the corporate market.
The company has acquired Yammer for USD 1.2 billion.
Yammer provides social networking services to corporates. You can consider it as a Facebook like network for company employees.
Microsoft should gain from this deal as Yammer is very popular with a lot of companies. Ford for example is one of the big customers.
Yammer might have cost Microsoft a bit more than what Facebook paid for Instagram but at least it has a business model.
