Xobni offering support for Gmail gadgets in Microsoft Outlook
If you are a user of Microsoft Outlook but love the extra functionalities offered by Gmail, you might be in luck.
Xobni has announced that they are now adding support for Google Gmail Gadgets to their product for Microsoft Outlook.
Outlook users can now get similar features within the Outlook application using these services.
Developers can now begin building applications that run inside of Outlook without having to build an entire Outlook plugin. The Xobni platform is based on Google’s Gadget (OpenSocial) platform, and initially enables developers to build Contextual Gadgets that appear when the current email matches certain criteria. For example, a flight check-in application could run when a user is viewing an email containing a travel itinerary.
