WordPress.com has rolled out a small but significant update on their blogging platform.
Now, by default, the follow comment option on all blog posts would be on.
Registered users would be able to disable this option from settings. Guests would have to disable it manually every time they comment on a WordPress.com powered blog.
The company said:
Some recent tests have shown that by subscribing commenters to new comments by default, they are more likely to stay engaged and come back and comment more on your blog. With that knowledge, we’ve changed the default comment following behavior to help you get more conversations going on your blog.
