Online sources have revealed about how Microsoft would deal with Windows Defender as a security solution in the next version of Windows 8.
Reports say that Windows Defender would be considered as just another option available to the users.
Microsoft would only enable it if the user has not installed any third party security solution. It would also be turned on if the security software on the machine has not been updated in the recent times.
Microsoft would recommend Windows Defender along with other security apps available on the Windows Store.
Looks like the company is playing safe to avoid any potential lawsuits from the security software makers.
Windows Defender in Windows 8 would be more capable than ever before. It would include technologies from Microsoft Security Essentials which is a pure Antivirus product.
