The Wikimedia Foundation has confirmed that they have moved all of their domains away from Go Daddy.
They had announced this initiative after it was found that Go Daddy was supporting SOPA.
Go Daddy later changed their stance publicly though the damage was done. They are seen as a support of laws like SOPA and PIPA by the web users.
Michelle Paulson, Wikimedia’s legal counsel spoke about this move: “Go Daddy’s initial support of the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA), the controversial anti-piracy legislation in the U.S. House of Representatives, reaffirmed our decision to end the relationship. After exploring numerous alternatives, the Foundation’s legal team decided that MarkMonitor could best provide the comprehensive services that we needed.”
