Wal-Mart opens up Wal-Mart Soundcheck
It’s not as if the web users in the United States have few options to purchase music digitally. However, new services are popping up almost on a weekly basis. Just a few days after MTV announced their plan to launch their digital music store URGE in collaboration with Microsoft, we now have Wal-Mart launching one more.
The world’s largest chain of retail stores has launched an online music video and audio service. The service also boasts of having exclusive studio performances available on their newly launched store. The company said that this digital music store is part of their broader strategy to make itself trendier and draw more customers to their services.
This new service from the company is being called Wal-Mart Soundcheck and in addition to digital media and studio performances, it would also feature interviews with new and established bands and musicians. Some of the current available interviews are with punk pop fivesome Yellowcard and rock band Switchfoot.
