Microsoft reveals details on Vista versions
Software giants Microsoft seems to have finally settled on the various variants of their upcoming Windows Vista operating system. The company seems to be working on six different variants of this operating system.
This however excludes two additional releases customized for the European Union that won’t bundle in Windows Media Player to comply with the ruling of the courts in the region. The lineup of Vista releases would include: Windows Starter 2007; Windows Vista Enterprise; Windows Vista Home Basic, Windows Vista Home Premium, Windows Vista ultimate, Windows Vista Business, Windows Vista Home Basic N and Windows Vista Business N.
This means that the company has decided to not release updated versions of Windows XP Media Center Edition and Windows XP Tablet PC Edition as they have been merged into other entities. Also missing on the list is a possible Windows Vista Small Business Edition. The list also misses any of the 64-bit-specific Windows Vista editions.
