Ergonis Software today announced the release of Typinator 6.7, a new version of their popular text expander. The new version focuses on scripting – it makes Typinator itself scriptable plus adds new options for using scripts in expansions.
Using scripts does not require any programming knowledge. Just select an item from the Scripts submenu to insert a script marker in an expansion. You can download some useful predefined scripts from our Download Extras web page, and programmers can easily extend the scripting repertoire of Typinator with even more features like stock quotes, calendar functions, time zone calculations, clipboard manipulation, URL processing, dynamic signatures, context-sensitive code fragments. The possible uses are virtually unlimited.
A number of further enhancements and fixes completes this feature-rich release, like support for the Baidu Pinyin input methods for Chinese and new built-in functions for inserting arbitrary Unicode characters and for pasting the contents of the clipboard. The new version also improves compatibility with OS X El Capitan and third-party applications like Messenger for Facebook and MS Word 2016. Visit Ergonis Software’s website to view the full list of changes and to download a trial copy.
Typinator is a powerful, yet elegantly simple solution that boosts your productivity by automating the process of inserting frequently used text and auto-correcting typing errors. Across all applications, it detects specific sequences of typed characters and automatically replaces them with text snippets, graphics, URLs, dates and special characters.
