Toyota to increase production of Yaris model
Toyota is the world’s second largest automaker in the world after General Motors and is catching up fast with their new offerings. Yaris happens to be one of the most exciting products from the company in the small car segment and the increasing demand for this model has led to Toyota deciding on taking steps to increase the production of the car to meet the demand.
Toyota Motor Corp. has informed the media sources that they are planning to invest around 110 million euros in their operations in northern France with the aim of increasing the production of this little funky car by around 30,000 more units. The process should be complete by sometime next year and would help the company meet the demand from the European market.
The company would now be taking the production capacity of its plant in Onnaing, near Valenciennes, to 270,000 units. Most of these upgrades would be to complement the section manufacturing Yaris. Toyota would also increase the workforce in this plant by around 1000 new workers to supplement the production cycle. Looks like the auto market has interesting times ahead…
