Oxford University Press might not print next edition of Oxford English Dictionary

Oxford University Press has hinted that they might not print the next edition of Oxford English Dictionary.

This is largely due to the fact that sales of dictionaries are on a decline as more and more people are using the internet for research.

OUP representative said in a statement: “The print dictionary market is just disappearing, it is falling away by tens of per cent a year.”

The next edition of the OED is unlikely to launch in the near future. It is very much a work in progress and is only 28% complete.
