INDEX Fairs 2017 concludes its 29th edition

India’s big event for furniture, interiors and design

Mumbai, June, 2017: INDEX Fairs 2017, India’s leading architectural, interiors and design show concluded its 29th Edition on June 11, 2017. The Expo was held at the Bombay Convention and Exhibition Center (BCEC), Goregaon.
The key dignitaries present at the inaugural included Arti Kirloskar, Patron of the Arts and Indian Craft Heritage, Pune; Ms. Rosimar Suzano, Hon. Consul General of Brazil; Mr. Soungeun Kim, Hon. Consul General of the Republic of Korea; Mr. Niranjan Hiranandani, Chairman, NAREDCO; Mr. Mukesh Mehta, Vic Chairman, NAREDCO; Ar. Prem Nath, Architect Prem Nath and Associates, Mumbai; Ar. The four-day fair saw the participation of over 200 companies promoting 2500 brands with exhibitors from China, Korea, Turkey, Taiwan and Italy. The fair aimed to connect manufacturers and traders dealing in furniture and fittings, OEM white goods, accessories, lighting and a complete range of materials for kitchen, office and hardware for contract use, with architects, interior designers, and builders, project managers, and consultants, procurement heads across the hospitality, corporate and government sectors.
The first day of the fair ended with the Smoking Hot appreciations awards for the architects and developers. The event was attended by prominent industry leaders and experts. The senior members of the industry like Ar. Christopher Charles Benninger, Ar. Prem Nath and Ar. Uttam Jain were felicitated for their years of work in the architecture industry. The Architects couples like Ar. Annkur Khosla and Ar. Faquih Kaif, Ar. Prashant and Hemanti Sutaria, Ar. Kalhan Mattoo and Santha Gaur Mattoo, Ar. Sanjay Puri & Ar. Nina Puri, Ar. Alan Abraham & Ar. Anca Abraham, Ar. Krupa Zubin & Ar. Zubin Zainuddin were presented for their contribution in the industry.

Index Fairs’ partnership with leading design publication IFJ has seen knowledge forums such as the IFJ seminars and focused industry meets. The seminar and panel discussion on The Workspace 2017: Deconstruction and Reconstruction of Offices boasted eminent speakers Ar. Ninad Tipnis, Ar. Kalhan Mathoo, Ar. Kshitij Limaye, Ar. Swapnil Sawant, Ar. Yatin Patel, Ar. Bharat Yamsamwar, Ar. Somnath Dutta Roy, and Dr. Abhijit Sarkar. The seminar threw light on Workspace industry in India and offered an understanding of design-based value addition in such projects.
The day three of the fair saw the launch of the IFJ Special Bamboo edition launched by Ar. Bobby Mukerjee, Ar. Conrad Gonsalves and Ar. Nitin Khillawala. The launch was followed by a musical performance by Ar. Conrad Gonsalves, Ar. Nitin Khillawala and their team members.

INDEX Fairs 2017 received an immense support from the industry as well as various professional associations such as All India Hardware Association (AIHA), Hospitality Purchasing Managers Forum (HPMF), and National Real Estate Development Council (NAREDCO).

Index Fairs is launching its 29th edition today. It is the only fair in the country that is exclusively dedicated to the trade as well as business in the interior and architectural industry of India. Swapnil Sawant (Worksphere Architects India Pvt. Ltd.), Ar. Kalhan Mattoo (Planet 3 Studios), Shitiz Limaye and other senior corporate procurement professionals will speak about the issues in design and sustainability in the 21st Century workplaces on 9th June 2017.

Contract is a well-established focused section for the contract market, where architects can directly specify for projects that have a professional line-up of offerings in the kitchen and workspace segments, with impressive offerings in office from Korea and new launches from Nilkamal and Supreme industries. The Ceramics of India pavilion continued the initiative for the industry that was launched at Index Fairs in 2011.

Index Interfurn is now an institution in itself being the largest trade platform and meeting point for the entire architectural and furniture hardware industry. Specialist traders and sourcing agencies are present at Interfurn from all across India and the sub-continent to source material for retail and projects, while the industry at large is taking the opportunity to meet and interact at this great focused platform.

The Art Enclave, in association with Aura Art, is showcasing the work of artists and galleries across India with display of fine art, sculpture and photography. The India Design Pavilion is a key initiative at Index fairs 2017 to offer a focused platform to Indian designers to showcase their modern and innovative design. The Kudos Gallery salutes great work through project displays of eminent architects and builders.

The Index Design Boulevard and e! events at Index has come together at the Central Design Atrium. This year Index Fairs is showcasing bamboo as a material in focus, carrying ahead the concept of the IFJ Special Edition on Bamboo.

Over 100 renowned brands to showcase at the 2nd edition of India Kitchen and Bath

A pioneer exhibition for the kitchen and bath industry by UBM Index Trade Fairs

UBM Index Trade Fairs, organisers of the flagship show INDEX FAIRS, will host the 2nd edition of India Kitchen & Bath, its pioneer exhibition for the kitchen and bath industry. The exhibition will be held from 22-24 July 2016 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.

The three day trade fair is a strategic platform that will bring buyers and traders from sectors such as kitchen and bath equipments, OEM white goods, accessories, kitchen and bath furniture and fittings, lighting products with architects, interior designers, builders, project managers, consultants, procurement heads across the hospitality, corporate and government, all under one roof. The event is supported by Institute of Indian Interior Designers (IIID), All India Hardware Association, Hospitality Purchasing Managers Forum, India council of ceramic tiles & Sanitary ware and Endorsed by India Design Council (IDC).

The fair will be marked by knowledge forums, seminars , an Art enclave, a Sculpture Zone and a Kudos Gallery (A tribute to Indian Architecture Design). The trade fair will also see a presentation on the ‘India Design Mark’ by The India Design Council, to promote innovations of budding Architects & Designers of the industry. One of the highlights of the event include ‘Design Yatra’, an all India initiative by the Institute of Indian Interior Designers ( IIID ) to spread design in the masses. Design Yatra is a convoy of four nano cars that was inaugurated at the National convention of IIID at Indore in February 2016. The convoy which will commence its journey from IKB 2016, will campaign in about 30 cities comprising IIID’s regional chapters and centers that will organise a number of events around the theme “Design for the masses.” The second day of the event will feature the Interactive knowledge seminar “A treat in retreat” by Ar. Tony Joseph and IIID, Delhi chapter along with the Flag off ceremony of “Design Yatra” which is expected be attended by over 80 eminent Architects.
