IFAT India is India’s leading trade fair for water, sewage, refuse and recycling. Leading international trade fairs for suppliers to the ceramics industry, Indian Ceramics & Ceramics Asia opened on a high note as the event welcomed 15 percent more trade visitors on the opening day as compared to the past edition. 2017 marks as a strong year with 300 exhibitors showcasing over 400 represented brands.

Panasonic India and IIM Ahmedabad’s collaborative “Cross Value Innovation-Case Study” receives tremendous response

The recently launched ‘Cross Value Innovative- Case Study by Panasonic India in collaboration with IIM Ahmedabad has kicked off on a successful note with 800 applications from prestigious 25 B-schools in the country. The competition focuses on encouraging students to develop solutions to cater to the increasing demand of Lithium-Ion in smaller applications. This mega event has been organized to encourage students to develop critical thinking skills and produce efficient solutions for the market expectations across industries.
The competition will unfold in three interesting rounds and the teams will be a mix of candidates irrespective of their college or year of study. In the final round, the top 5 teams will present their case studies to Panasonic India, and after a competitive round of evaluation the winner will be declared.

Intuit rewards INR 25 lakhs to Indian SMBs through the Small Business Local Buzz Programme

Maruti Suzuki India would stop selling their Maruti 800 model in major Indian cities from today.

This model is no longer in compliance with the latest emission norms. It would still be sold in rest of the country.

Maruti 800 would not be on sale in 13 cities including New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune, Kanpur, Ahmedabad, Surat and Agra.

Some other models that are in the same category from other car manufacturers: Ford Ikon (1.3 petrol), Fiat Palio, Skoda Fabia (1.2 petrol) and Octavia (1.9 TDI engine) and Chevrolet Tavera (2.5DI).

Maruti is still considering if they want to upgrade the engine in Maruti 800 to make it compatible with Bharat Stage IV so that it can be sold in these cities.

Industry sources say that Suzuki is working on bringing in their Suzuki Cervo model to replace Maruti 800 in the country.

Maruti Suzuki India has confirmed that they have no plans to update their M800 model with a new engine to make it compliant with the latest emission norms.

This means that Maruti 800 would no longer be on sale in around 13 cities in India from April this year.

These cities would come under the latest Bharat Stage IV norms. The cities where Maruti 800 would no longer be legal for sale are: Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune, Kanpur, Ahmedabad, Surat and Agra.

India would implement these emission norms countrywide by 2015-16. Maruti 800 could be sold in the rest of the country till that time in its current form.

This could turn out to be a bad new development for the company as Tata Nano would still be on sale in these 13 cities and it is much cheaper than Alto which would now become the cheapest hatchback on sale here.

Tata Nano production at Sanand would begin soon

Tata Motors has good news for those who want to get their hands on their Nano small car.

Tata has announced that they would begin trial production of the Nano model in the near future.

The company is currently working on setting up their new manufacturing plant at Sanand (near Ahmedabad).

The project was delayed after the company had to move the location of their plant from West Bengal to Gujarat.

Tata said that the production could start in full flow within 6-8 months. The company is currently manufacturing only around 3-4000 units per month at their other plants.

This new plant would have an initial manufacturing capacity of 2.5 lakh units per year.
