Vodafone India Rolls Out Faster, Smarter 3G Services On Its Own Network For Customers In Bengaluru

Vodafone India, one of India’s leading telecommunications service providers, has begun a phased roll-out of Superfast 3G services on its own 3G network in Bengaluru. Built on the superior 2100 MHz, this modern and technology efficient 3G network will offer the people of Bengaluru a faster, smarter and better mobile internet experience with good speeds and seamless connectivity.

Vodafone has been providing 3G services to its customers in Bengaluru through intra-circle roaming arrangements with other operators. Now, J P Nagar, Chamrajpet, Basavanagudi, Padmanabha Nagar, Hanumanth Nagar, Rajarajeshwari Nagar, Srinagar, Jayanagar, KR Market, Kumaraswamy layout, Electronic City, Jigni, Bommasandra and Bommanahalli have Vodafone’s own 3G network. Vodafone will continue to expand in a phased manner and complete the roll out of 3G on its own network across the entire city in the next 60 days. Vodafone has been rapidly deploying its own 3G network in Karnataka and has already launched its own 3G services in 19 towns that includes Tumkur, Gadag, Bellary, Hassan, Shimoga, Hubli-Dharwad, Gulbarga, Belgaum, Mangalore and Mysuru among others.

Vodafone’s own 3G will enhance both Data and Voice experience for its customers. With a 3G enabled smartphone on the Superfast Vodafone 3G network, one can avail HD Voice, make video calls, watch live TV, access the internet, download large email attachments faster and download music tracks, over and above the usual voice and messaging services.

Commenting on the launch of Vodafone’s own 3G network in Bengaluru, Suresh Kumar, Operations Director –South, Vodafone India said, “Bengaluru is a strategic and critical data market for us in Karnataka and in India. Coinciding with the launch, Vodafone Karnataka has a range of special offers for customers both existing and new. Vodafone has around 76 lakhs customers in Karnataka Circle with 58% being data users, which is growing at a fast pace. Shillong To Experience Faster, Smarter And Better Vodafone 3G Services

Vodafone to bring in new investments towards network augmentation

Vodafone India, one of India’s leading telecommunications service providers, today announced the launch of Superfast 3G services on its own network in Shillong in Meghalaya. With this move, over 2.8 lakh citizens of the city (approximate) will be able to experience Vodafone 3G services, now even faster, smarter and better than the existing 3G experience. To provide high speed mobile internet services to its valued customers in the capital city of Meghalaya, Vodafone has so far deployed 68 new 3G towers and continues to add more sites.

The new Superfast Vodafone 3G will enhance the service experience such as multimedia, high speed mobile broadband, internet access with the ability to view video footage on one’s mobile handset. Also, with a 3G phone and access to the Superfast Vodafone 3G network, one can make video calls, watch live TV, access the high speed internet, download large email attachments faster and download music tracks, as well as the usual voice call and messaging services found in a mobile phone.

Vodafone, so far, has been offering 3G services in Assam & North East circle via bilateral roaming agreements (ICR) with other operators. In March 2015 auctions, Vodafone India acquired 2100 Mhz (3G) spectrum for Assam & North East circle and has made significant investments to modernise its network to offer faster, smarter and better 3G services to its customers on its own network. Vodafone India has more than 4.8 million customers in Assam & North East Circle with 40% being data users.

Vodafone has been rolling out its own 3G network in a phased manner across Assam & North East Circle. It has recently announced the launch of its own 3G services in Jowai, Nongpoh and Tura in Meghalaya. Apart from these markets, Vodafone has also rolled out its own 3G network in Jorhat, Guwahati, Tezpur, Dibrugarh, Nagaon, Digboi, Tinsukia & Bongaigoan in Assam; Itanagar, Bomdila, Tawang, Along, Basar,Bhalukpong, Dirang, Changlang, Palin & Seppa in Arunachal Pradesh; and Kohima & Dimapur in Nagaland.

Vodafone India To Commence 4G Services By Dec 2015

EXPAND OWN 3G FOOTPRINT TO 16 CIRCLES

Vodafone India confirms that it will launch its 4G services by end of the calendar year 2015.Important data markets including Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Bengaluru and Kochi will be part of the first wave of the roll-out.

In addition, Vodafone India will also roll out its own 3G networks in 7 circles – Assam, North East, UPWest, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Kerala and Odisha, to expand its overall 3G footprint to 16 circles across the country.

Testing of 4G services has commenced successfully. Vodafone India has partnered with leading global technology infrastructure service providers for the network roll-out. With some of the latest technological developments on the anvil; Vodafone is building robust and resilient network architecture with a strong backhaul to support the volumes and need for speed from customers.

Vodafone India had successfully acquired additional 4G (LTE) spectrum in 5 circles viz. Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Kerala and Karnataka in February 2014 auctions. These circles together contribute close to 50% of the total data revenues for Vodafone India.

In FY14-15, Vodafone India had rolled out a record number of over 23,000 sites taking its overall network footprint to more than 131,000 sites. Over the last few months, Vodafone India has taken several steps to modernize its radio network and switching systems. Charging platforms have also been upgraded to facilitate a wider bouquet of products and services. Major investments have been made in high capacity Fibre/backhaul to significantly increase the internet connectivity to the rest of the world.Vodafone India remains committed towards making significant investments in network expansion and for enhancing overall customer experience.

This announcement comes post the Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) ruling last week that 3G intra-circle (ICR) roaming services will be available once again in the circles.

In addition to offering customers (both pre and post paid) 3G roaming facilities, Vodafone Punjab is also offering multiple packages to suit customer requirements. 3G services will be available in Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Jagraon, Kharar, Malerkotla, Nabha, Nawanshahr, Panchkula, Mohali & Zirakpur with immediate effect and will be rolled out in other cities in a phased manner
