Twitter announces t.co link shortener for their service
Twitter has finally announced their own t.co link shortening service that would cater to all the links shared on their micro blogging network.
They are currently converting links shared through direct messages through another service at twt.tl.
They have now acquired ownership of the t.co domain name. And soon, all links shared on the Twitter network would be converted to this domain name.
You would still be able to use a shortened link from a third party service but it would again be converted into a t.co link.
So, this is not going to affect services like bit.ly much. But it would surely kill the fun with branded link shortening service offered by them.
