In a historic judgment, the Supreme Court of India has canceled 122 telecom licenses issued by the government back in 2008.
The canceled licenses include active mobile services operated by international players like Telenor and Etisalat.
The court said that these service providers can continue to operate their network for another four months.
Government can announce fresh norms for these companies to reapply.
Telenor is currently serving around 36 million customers in the Indian market. These mobile subscribers would have to decide what they want to do… Wait or migrate to another service provider using mobile number portability.
