Sun Niagara Servers to get Ubuntu support

Ubuntu happens to be one of the most popular Linux distributions around and it is soon going to add support for the Sun Niagara Servers.

Sun Microsystems said in a statement that they are working with Canonical, the Linux distributor of Ubuntu for this new development.

Ubuntu was launched in 2004 and is the brainchild of South African dot-com billionaire Mark Shuttleworth.

The latest edition of Ubuntu Linux Distro is due to come out anytime in the coming days and this update is expected to be a massive hit considering it makes it even more easier for desktop users to swift from Windows OS to the Linux platform.

Sun’s “Niagara” Sparc-based servers currently support only the Solaris operating system.
