Streaming from Yahoo! Music Service

Search engine giants Yahoo! has collaborated with networking hardware manufacturer Linksys to provide a solution to people to stream music from their online music service. The company has announced the availability of Linksys Wireless-G Music Bridge, which enables the consumers to stream music from the Yahoo music service on a PC to a home stereo.

Yahoo! has said that the software for this kind of connectivity is loaded on both the bridge and the Yahoo Music Engine application, which enables this kind of streaming. Yahoo! launched their music subscription service quite sometime ago and it enables the users to get access to more than a million songs for a couple of dollars payment a month.

The company is offering a 20-dollar rebate on this hardware product if they are already subscribing to Yahoo! Music subscription service. Yahoo! charges $5 a month for an annual subscription or $7 for a monthly subscription on their online music store. The agreement between Yahoo! and Linksys would go beyond this service enhancement.

Both the companies would now cross-market each other’s products and services on Websites, newsletters, product packaging and advertising.
