Square has something special to boast about now. The company’s mobile payment technology is now being used by the Barack Obama campaign for the 2012 elections.
The campaign operators are equipping staff and interns with smartphones with the Square add-on to accept donations from people on the roads.
Square makes the process very simple as the user can pay using his credit card on the spot and get a receipt for the payment.
It is also safer than handing over your credit card details to people during traditional fundraising campaigns.
Square spoke about this: “Whether you’re a Republican or a Democrat, running for president or local assembly, Square makes it easier than ever for candidates, organizations and volunteers to fundraise for their cause.”
