Microsoft has confirmed that they are aware of the SMS bug that affects their Windows Phone platform.
Apparently, a sms message sent in a particular format can disable the messaging app and even restart the phone.
A company representative said: “We are aware of the issue and our engineering teams are examining it now. Once we have more details, we will take appropriate action to help ensure customers are protected.”
The problem was originally reported by WinRumors. Details of the bugs are apparently not in public domain right now so owners of WP devices have few reasons to be scared.
We hope Microsoft releases a patch quickly over the air.
