SideStep names Yahoo! Executive Rob Solomon as new CEO
The travel related search engine company SideStep has named Rob Solomon to be their new Chief Executive of the company. He would now also be acting as the new President of the company as it looks towards the future in one of the most active industry on the internet. In addition, Solomon has also been named to become one of the members of the companyâ€™s board of directors.
Interestingly, Solomon was currently working as the VP and General Manager of the Yahoo! Shopping Group. He played an important role in ensuring that Yahoo! Shopping became one of the most comprehensive commerce destinations on the Internet. Being a part of the group that developed the Yahoo! Shopping Search, Solomon would bring in extensive experience to SideStep.
Solomon was also earlier part of the Yahooâ€™s travel business division. This is also going to help him manage SideStep in an efficient manner. Jim Barnett, SideStep’s Chairman of the Board spoke on his appointment as the new CEO of the company: “Rob Solomon has the track record and ingenuity to strengthen SideStep’s position as the leader in travel search and ultimately continue to transform the online travel market.â€
