Scribd latest to announce love for HTML5!

Scribd has become the latest web based service to announce love for HTML5 over Adobe Flash platform.

Scribd is known for their document sharing service. You can upload a document for sharing purposes.

The document is made accessible on the web through an Adobe Flash applet.

Scribd said that they believe HTML5 is the future and would now convert all of their hosted files to this format.

The company said: “We are scrapping three years of Flash development and betting the company on HTML5 because we believe HTML5 is a dramatically better reading experience than Flash. Now any document can become a Web page.”

Switching to HTML5 would also benefit the company as they would be able to cater to users of Apple iPad and other similar devices that do not support Adobe Flash.
