Apple has been targeting Samsung in several countries. They have had some success in Australia but Samsung is finally able to sell their Galaxy Tab in this market.
Samsung is running a marketing campaign highlighting this legal attack by Apple pretty much claiming that Apple was scared of the Tab.
The advertisement states:
The Tablet Apple tried to stop. It’s time to Tab.
Samsung representatives in fact said in a statement that Apple helped them by making Galaxy Tab a household name in this market.
At the end of the day the media awareness certainly made the Galaxy Tab 10.1 a household name compared to probably what it would’ve been based on the investment that we would’ve put into it from a marketing perspective.
Remains to be seen how well this tablet pc model would sell in this market.
