Gizmodo has reported that they have got their hands on hardware specification details of the rumored Google Nexus 7 Tablet PC.
Google is expected to announce this low cost tablet at Google I/O event this month. It could go on sale sometime next month.
The report is on the line with existing rumors in the market. It is being manufactured by Asus and is powered with a 1.3Ghz quad-core Tegra 3 processor. It also features a 12-core GPU from NVidia and would include 1GB RAM. Google is likely to offer two variants. 8GB version would sell for USD 199 in the US market. 16GB version would retail for USD 249.
The report further said that the 7 inch IPS display would offer a resolution of 1280 by 800. Google is including a 1.2mp camera in the front for video calling. No backside camera would be available probably to save costs.
Gizmodo further claimed that the device would offer 9 hours of battery life.
The biggest question is… Whether it would run Ice Cream Sandwich or Jelly Bean. We have already seen hints that Samsung Galaxy Nexus would be the first device to feature Jelly Bean edition of Android. Maybe that applies only on the smartphone end.
