Royal Jordanian orders 2 Boeing 787 jets
US based aircraft manufacturer Boeing has announced that they have received confirmed orders for 2 of their Boeing 787 jets from Royal Jordanian.
The airline company has also taken out options for two more and plans to lease another eight.
The order for two Boeing 787 planes is worth around $306 million at list prices though the actual price is expected to be much lower as the two companies would have negotiated the final price.
With this Boeing has till now won 568 orders for the 787 from around 44 airline companies around the world.
The company already claims that this new jet offers 20 percent better fuel efficiency compared to current generation planes. The Boeing 787 is also supposed to be cheaper to maintain in the longer run.
This plane is expected to get into service starting May next year.
