Netflix would soon find itself facing a new challenger in the form of Redbox in the streaming video platform.
Redbox and Verizon are collaborating together on a new service that would provide streaming videos to consumers in the US market.
Redbox is already competing with Netflix in the DVD rentals service market. They are also acquiring the DVD rental service operated by NCR Corp (Blockbuster).
With this they are gaining around 9000 more outlets where their customers can get a DVD on rent.
The deal with Verizon would ensure that the company would get massive marketing boost whenever the service is launched in the coming months.
