Opened Hand acquired by Intel
Microprocessor Company Intel has announced that they are now acquiring Linux Company Opened Hand.
Opened Hand specializes in providing mobile Linux development and services.
After the acquisition, this new unit of Intel would work for the Moblin Software Platform community.
This platform is being developed for the Intel Atom processor aimed at mobile internet devices.
A company representative said in a statement: “Opened Hand brings great expertise and technology in the area of user-interaction frameworks, improving Intel’s ability to address the unique challenges of enabling cutting edge UIs for these new class of devices.”
Intel added that after the acquisition they would continue to support existing Opened Hand projects.
