NTT DoCoMo to sell Windows Mobile based handsets
Japan’s NTT DoCoMo Inc has announced that they would soon be selling third-generation FOMA handsets designed by High Tech Computer Corp in their domestic market. The interesting part of the news is that these handsets would be powered by the Windows Mobile 5 technology.
These handsets would be powered by the Japanese version of the Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 OS and would be launched during the second half of current year. These handsets would be targeted at the corporate users who would get the convenience of staying connected to their companyâ€™s network based on Windows Server and Exchange Server.
These new handsets would be based on the dual-mode W-CDMA and GSM/GPRS technologies and will offer voice, video and packet communications compatible with Wireless LAN.
