Niels Munksgaard, director of Portfolio, Product Marketing & Sales at Nokia Entertainment Global said in a statement: “What we see is that youth are pretty much fed up with iPhones. Everyone has the iPhone. Also, many are not happy with the complexity of Android and the lack of security. So we do increasingly see that the youth that wants to be on the cutting edge and try something new are turning to the Windows phone platform.”
This is the reason why Nokia believes that their Windows Phone based devices would be a hit in the market with the youth.
It is to be noted that Windows Phone devices have been on sale for a year now though they have not been doing very well. Largely because of the lack of third party applications.
Nokia however is trying to differentiate their own devices with special applications and accessories that work only with their Windows Phone devices.
The company has launched two models until now. Remains to be seen how well they would do in the coming months.
