Netflix to deliver movies on the internet
Netflix Inc. has said that they would now start showing movies and TV episodes over the Internet this week. This would further enhance their services of delivery DVDs through mail to their subscribers.
The company is going to launch their new service named “Watch Now” today. However, a limited number of their subscriber base would get access to this service initially.
Interestingly, Netflix is offering this new service at no extra charge to their customers. They expect this service to be expanded to about 250,000 more subscribers each week through June. This would help them cope up with the demand for this bandwidth intensive program.
Subscribers to this service would be required to accept a computer applet. After installing this applet, they would be able to watch anywhere from six hours to 48 hours of material per month on an Internet streaming service. Netflix is confident that their streaming mechanism would prevent piracy of the digital content.
They aim to initially provide roughly 1,000 movies and TV shows for online delivery to their subscribers.
