Oracle to boost investments in MySQL
Oracle has announced that they have big plans for MySQL that they have acquired through Sun Microsystems deal.
The company said: “We are increasing our investment in MySQL… on every front.”
The aim is to improve the capabilities and performance of this open source database system.
Oracle believes that they can make MySQL a potent challenger to Microsoft SQL Server in the market.
They already have Oracle Database solution for the higher end market.
The company said: “MySQL competes a lot and often with SQL Server. It makes sense for us as a company… to make sure it lines up well with SQL Server.”
