Motorola to manufacture Microsoft technology powered mobile phones
Motorola is the world’s second largest maker of mobile phones and are the dominating players in the American market. The company recently collaborated with Apple to launch an Apple iTunes powered mobile phone with digital music playing capabilities.
Now, they are collaborating with the software giants Microsoft to use Windows Media technology from Microsoft in a new range of music phones. Motorola would be selling these phones alongside its iTunes phone developed with Apple.
The company has plans to launch between one and three Windows Media phones in the second half of 2006 and is planning to keep them separate from their other phones developed using Apple’s technology.
Microsoft is working very hard on releasing technologies, which can challenge the domination of Apple Computers in the digital music and players market. This just might be one edge they need to counter a possible iPhone launch from Apple.
