Microsoft has revealed that they are working on a rebranded digital music service that would be launched as Xbox Music later this year.
This service is expected to be deeply integrated with all their consumer platforms including the Xbox 360 gaming console, Windows Phone mobile platform and of course Windows 8.
This revelation did not include any mention of the Zune branding. The company has already killed the Zune hardware though the branding is still used by their music service and the app for the Windows Phone smartphones.
The company said that existing subscribers of Zune service would retain their settings and media on the new platform expected to be launched this fall.
