Microsoft has announced that 2012 would be their last keynote at the CES.
The company said that the January time period does not usually match their launch plans so they are not going to feature in future keynotes at the CES.
Interesting thing is that CES has claimed that it’s them who told Microsoft that they do not want them to give keynotes at the event anymore. CES basically said that they usually invite companies to give keynote at the event and it’s not the other way around.
In any case, Microsoft would keep a smaller presence at future CES events. The company is no longer the software powerhouse and there are enough exciting companies out there that would be loved by the audience and media alike to give keynotes.
