Maruti selling 50,000+ cars per month!
India’s largest automobile manufacturer is doing impressive business here in their domestic market. The sales are going up and up and have touched an impressive 50,109 units last month. This is impressive when compared to sales of 48,544 units in same month last year.
This increase in sales come despite the fact that the company increased the prices of some popular models due to increase in input costs. Maruti also reported that the sales in the domestic markets in January 2006 increased 7.1 per cent to 48,526 units against 45,300 units in the corresponding period in 2005.
The decline was noticed in their exports market as sales fell down to 1583 units as compared to 3244 units in the same period last year. Maruti 800 is slowly being replaced by Maruti Alto as the most popular car in the lower segments with sales declining to touch 82862 units compared to 9,625 units in same month last year.
