Apple launches Intel powered Mac Mini
Mac makers Apple Computers not only launched the fabulous iPod Hi-Fi speaker system yesterday but also launched an updated Mac Mini computer with the Intel processors. The company claims that these new Mac Mini units are as much as three times faster than the previous version.
The higher end version with a dual core processor from Intel is expected to be as much as five times as fast as the previous version. This is a major performance boost for the prospective owners of this computing marvel.
Apple targets the Mac Minis at users who already own a computer (more likely a PC) and wants to get a taste of the Mac platform without spending a fortune on the more expensive variants. Mac Mini ships without a monitor, keyboard, or a mouse and are very small in size to be as portable as possible.
Apple would be retailing the single core version of Mac Mini $599 while the machine with the dual-core chip would retail for $799. Apple has already launched the Intel based versions of iMac and MacBook Pro.
