Kim Dotcom launches Mega to public with 50GB free storage

Mega has finally arrived. Anyone can create a new account and start using this cloud storage platform.

The service is offering 50GB of free storage. Paid plans are available with extra benefits.

Right now the service is only accessible through the web browser. Mega recommends Google Chrome for best user experience.

The service as expected is focused on privacy of user data. All the files are encrypted. Sharing requires creating a public key and so on.

Mega servers are currently overloaded and you might struggle to even create a new account. It should get better in the coming hours.
