Online sources are indicating that Honda India is now assembling the next generation CR-V SUV model in an attempt to lower its final price tag to make it more lucrative to the consumers.
Honda CR-V was once a very popular model in its segment. But it all changed when competing products arrived in the market with diesel engine options.
In the past year or so, this model has seen terrible sales. This is the reason why they are likely to switch to a CKD strategy with the next model.
The new updated CR-V would be launched in India next month. And it is expected to feature a more competitive price tag. But even then it would be a tough sell in comparison to rival products like Mitsubishi Outlander, GM Captiva, Hyundai Santa Fe, Renault Koleos and Toyota Fortuner.
