Grooveshark launches a HTML5 web app for smartphones

Grooveshark has just launched a beta edition of their web app for smartphones.

The app is created using HTML5 which makes it compatible with a wide variety of smartphone platforms out there.

The company claims that this service should work on: iOS, Android 2.3+, Blackberry Playbook, and HP TouchPad. And of course, it works fine in a HTML5 capable desktop browser too.

The UI is pretty basic right now. But searching and playing music works. And considering it is free, it would make a lot of their users happy.
