EMI is the latest music label to target Grooveshark with a music licensing related lawsuit.
With this Grooveshark is now being targeted by all the major music labels in the world.
All the lawsuits claim that Grooveshark is broadcasting their copyrighted media without proper licensing.
Grooveshark on their part says that the problems are related to contract disputes which would be resolved in time.
Grooveshark has a business model similar to YouTube. They let their users upload music files which are then made available to everyone on the network.
The company claims that they have the same legal protection enjoyed by YouTube. It is the responsibility of the music labels to complain about copyrighted material uploaded by their members which is then removed.
