Google has updated their Google Publisher Toolbar browser extension for Chrome.
The latest update comes with two new functionalities:
– When clicking an ad overlay, you’ll see the targeting type (http://goo.gl/W4Zix) for an impression in the ad details window. This will help you understand whether a specific ad is appearing on your pages because it’s relevant to your content (contextual targeting), or because it’s relevant to your audience (placement-targeting and interest-based advertising).
– You’ll see the ad source and the name of the advertiser (shown in the tool as “buyer”), when available. In the majority of cases, the ad source will be AdWords but you might also see “Third party tag buyers”, which are certified ad networks other than AdSense. Keep in mind that our system will automatically show the ad that will generate the most revenue for you for a specific impression, regardless of the ad source.
