Google+ Hangouts gets a major visual and feature update

Google has finally updated the design and layout of Google+ Hangouts to make them appear more at home.

The previous edition looked pretty outdated with the use of gradients and awful buttons.

The new design makes use of the Google’s new UI theme and looks much better.

Google developer Christopher Johnson highlighted the changes:

– Screensharing: share what’s on your computer screen with everyone in the hangout. This is the first of many extras we’re graduating to Hangouts proper.

– Bigger video: we’ve put more emphasis on the live video itself by optimizing white space and other screen elements.
