Google has rolled out some major updates to their Google Groups for Business platform.
There are user interface enhancements in addition to a bunch of new functionalities.
Google highlighted the updates:
Updated user interface
The updated user interface has been modernized and simplified to match the new look and feel of the rest of Google Apps, with features like a configurable welcome screen and the ability to take and assign messages to members of the group.
New Collaborative Inbox
The new Collaborative Inbox lets you create a common mailbox shared across multiple users. With Collaborative Inbox, messages can be assigned to an individual and taken through a workflow based on your business needs. You can even create custom configurations by setting different permission levels to group members and with settings that apply to the entire group.
Finding what you need in a group gets easier
Messages can be labeled using tags for convenient categorization, filtered to show messages that meet certain criteria or queried using new search operators. Group members can use their own preferences to find the information they need.
