Google promotes Google Docs as Microsoft Office 2010 is coming soon!
Google has a new post on their Enterprise blog highlighting the advantages of migrating to Google Docs compared to Microsoft Office 2010 which is scheduled to launch in the coming days.
Microsoft Office 2010 is the latest version of the Office Suite from Microsoft.
Google is inviting users on earlier editions of Office software to give Google Apps a try. The service is free to use. Provides cloud based storage for documents and does not require any software installation.
It can be accessed from any computer in the world through a compatible web browser. New features are added on a regular basis.
If you’re considering upgrading Office with Office, we’d encourage you to consider an alternative: upgrading Office with Google Docs. If you choose this path, upgrade means what it’s supposed to mean: effortless, affordable, and delivering a remarkable increase in employee productivity. This is a refreshing alternative to the expensive and laborious upgrades to which IT professionals have become accustomed.
Google Docs is of course not suitable for users who need the advance functions of the Office suite. It is also not suitable for customers who do not have access to internet connectivity all the time. But it is turning into a good alternative for students, smaller companies and even city authorities who want to save money on buying software products.
