Google Android Jelly Bean features Liveness Check for Face Unlock

Google has added a new feature to the Face Unlock functionality in Android Jelly Bean edition.

They call it Liveness Check and it would require you to blink for the Face Unlock feature to work.

Google Android Face Unlock feature was criticized because users were able to unlock the phone using a photo of the owner.

Liveness Check would ensure that it would not work with static photos.

In the end, Face Unlock remains a novelty feature which is not very secure. Though Google continues to improve it with every update of the Android platform.
