Google +1 Button getting another update to lessen memory consumption

Google +1 Button getting another update to lessen memory consumption

Google is rolling out an update for the users on Google+ Platform Preview.

This update is to improve the performance of their Google +1 Button.

The new update would load all the relevant code when the user loads the web page.

But the code would only be processed when some user activity is done with the Google +1 Button.

This would ensure that the button consume less resources if it is not accessed at all by the visitor.

Google said:

This change reduces browser CPU and memory usage for your site by changing how the +1 button JavaScript works. The code will be loaded with the button, but only parse and execute when the button has interaction, with a focus, mouseover, click, and other relevant events. We hope this will make both your site and buttons faster and more efficient.
