Online sources are reporting that Research in Motion might not launch Blackberry 10 powered smartphones with hardware keyboard in the initial phase.
The first generation models are likely to be similar to most Android devices with just the touchscreen display.
This would be a problem for the company as majority of their consumers are fans of their hardware keyboards.
RIM has not had much success with their touchscreen only devices. Things are expected to change with the launch of BB10 devices as this platform is highly optimized for touch usage.
Remains to be seen if their innovative software keyboard would be good enough to entice the Blackberry fans.
