Facebook runs their first ads on a third party site Zynga.com

Facebook has been long rumored to be working on their own competitor to Google AdSense and we now have a preview of what it could look like.

The company is running their ads for the first time outside their own network. Facebook ads are now running on Zynga.com.

Facebook said that they have a special deal with Zynga for these ads and they do not have any plans to launch it widely but it is clear that they are just testing the platform for a wider rollout in the future.

The recent launch of Facebook IPO means that the company has to look at newer avenues of generating revenues and there is no better alternative to offering a competing platform to Google AdWords.

Facebook has tons of information about the web users and these ads can be highly personalized based on their past activity on the Facebook network.

This could be the biggest threat ever for the Google’s revenue model.
