Facebook confirms they are entering the location business!
TechCrunch recently posted solid evidence that Facebook was going to enter the location services market.
They reported about code that was added to the web edition of the service designed for touchscreen users.
The code gave enough hints about the upcoming addition of location based features on the web’s most popular social networking service.
Facebook has now confirmed the reports. The company said: “There are currently no plans to add marketing partners to this product. We may consider working with marketers to enhance the experience in the future, but have no plans to do so at launch.”
The company however did not say when they would publicly launch this new feature on their network.
