Google Chrome developers announce Experimental Extension APIs

Chromium blog has a new blog entry about the Experimental Extension APIs.

Chromium is the base of the Google Chrome web browser. The browser allows for third party extensions through APIs.

Chromium is now enabling access to some experimental APIs which are not yet ready for prime-time.

For now, two such extensions APIs are available:

chrome.experimental.history
chrome.experimental.processes

chrome.experimental.history would enable the developers to access and modify the user’s search history.

chrome.experimental.processes would allow access to the Google Chrome’s process model.
