An easier way to embed tweets from Twitter!
Twitter has just launched a tool named Blackbird Pie that makes it rather easy to embed an individual tweet on a web page or a blog post.
However, the tool requires too much manual work. You need to copy the exact link of the tweet. Open the tool page. Copy the link onto a text box. Press the Bake it button. Copy the code. Paste the code on your webpage. And so on.
A developer named Xavier has made a tool that does the job slightly better and it takes fewer steps.
You install the bookmarklet provided and click on it on the tweet page you want to quote. It generates the code right there and you can copy it to embed on your site.
Here is a sample tweet generated by both the services:
Twitter Blackbird Pie:
Just got the new iPad. This amazing device has already revolutionized the way I use a calculator.
As you can see the end result is pretty much the same. The good thing with the bookmarklet is that it uses the exact tweet post time. Twitter’s code does not show the correct time right now. They are working on it though.
